A commissioned piece I made for one of my customers.
Hope you all like it!

For those of you who aren't familiar with the folkloristic character Jack Frost you may read a little more about him here: [link]

If I have some time left this week I will write a bit more about this fascinating character, because there is much more to say about him!

A very clever piece. The old fashioned design is quite fitting, and brings to mind the woodcuts from one of my childhood Christmas books. I think my favorite part is the "ice" effect of Jack's breath and the boy's sled.

How are these displayed? Are they meant to be puppets?

Thank you so much for your kind words. And yes, they are meant to be puppets and to stimulate story telling among children. But this was a custom work for a shadow puppet collector. I also make small displays for them where people can place them in when they are not used and special collectors "boxes", to keep them safe.
